ABOUT THE CLUB
The vision that both Will and Nick have for The Red Sash Racing Club was to combine the strong suits of both parties and offer an ownership model with a slight difference. We set out with a number of criteria.
- The Red Sash Racing Club should be accessible to all – the pricing structure had to be right to enable everyone to have the chance of becoming a member and experiencing what we have to offer.
- The Red Sash Racing Club should be professionally managed, bringing the highest level of service and accountability to members.
- The Red Sash Racing Club should offer the very best value – source the right horses at the right money, and place them in the very best hands to enable them to thrive and show their best on the racecourse.
- The Red Sash Racing Club should provide it’s members with the highest level of communication – at all times to ensure that all members get the most out of their membership experience.
- The Red Sash Racing Club should adhere to the very highest welfare standards and practices, and only employ those that hold themselves to those same standards.
- The Red Sash Racing Club would care for it’s horses for the entirety of their lives, not just when they are part of the Club ownership, striving at all times to ensure that the horses that run in the Club name have the very best lives after racing, and keeping members up to date with them when they are enjoying pastures new.
- The Red Sash Racing Club would inform, educate and explain all aspects of the racing and breeding industries and the ancillary industries that rely on the two of them.
With Nicks near 25 years experience of syndicating horses and managing syndicates, and Will’s deep rooted involvement in both the racing and breeding industries they both felt that they were ideally placed to team up and offer something a little different – and The Red Sash Racing Club was born.
Micro Share ownership models have been around for quite a few years now, and some have certainly been more successful than others. The best of them are open, transparent, and great at keeping members up to date with the horses they are involved in – we will guarantee all of that, but will also offer something a little extra. Through our website. Members will have access to a members area where they will receive weekly updates about their horse, but will also get a monthly piece, be that a video or written piece, that will aim to lift the veil on some of the aspects of the racing and breeding industry that not everyone gets the chance to see.
We will be bringing members exciting footage from the sales, where you will see what goes into selecting and buying horses, from foals to horses in training to broodmares. We will explain the process that goes into both preparing them for sale, and also selecting them when buying at a sale. We will bring you behind the scenes footage of race yards, from the perspective of every member of the teams employed to get racehorses fit and to the track, from the trainer right down to the person that makes the tea and coffees! We will highlight the huge number of ancillary industries that rely on a thriving racing and breeding industry, for example farriers, saddlers, horsebox manufacturers, auction houses, feed manufacturers and merchants – we aim to highlight and show our members a behind the scenes look at every single thing that goes into making a racehorse and getting it to the winners enclosure.
So rather than just purchasing a small share in a racehorse, and hoping that you may be lucky enough to win an Owners Badge in a ballot, we will be offering so much more – yes you will have a lovely horse to follow, support, visit at the yard, and see at the races – members of The Red Sash Racing Club will also get a close up and personal view of every aspect of our wonderful sport, and the people it takes to keep the show on the road.
To help us bring you these videos and updates will be non other than ITV Racing and Sky Sports Racing presenter, Luke Harvey. Luke has been a regular on our screens for as long a Nick has been syndicating, and through the years they have got to know each other well, both on and off of the track – Luke will bring his unique style to The Red Sash Racing Club and we are delighted to have him on board as our Ambassador!
